Skin
The most common presenta ons of skin disease seen were:
Itching – 13.8%
Allergies – 12.3%
Hot spots – 10.5%
Ear problems - covered in the ear sec on.
Sore or red feet – 6.9%
Other condi ons seen were interdigital cysts 1.8%, skin fold 0.7%, vulval fold issues 1.1%
and autoimmune skin issues 0.7%
Tumours made up a small propor on around 1% but will be covered in a separate sec on.
Methods Used to Treat Skin Condi ons
The majority of skin issues were treated with diet change, in 17% of all cases. With other
common treatments being an bio cs, ointments, steroids, and shampoos consistent with
allergic skin disease. Skin issues can be complex and require mul ple treatment protocols
which may change over me.
