Health Report Final - Flipbook - Page 3
Preface
This report marks an important milestone in the ongoing work of the Working Clumber Spaniel Society in
community, it represents not just data - but the collec ve effort and shared commitment of our members.
Over the past year, a significant volume of health informa on has been gathered from working Clumber
Spaniels across the UK. This would not have been possible without the outstanding response from our
membership. Your willingness to have your dogs health-tested, to share your experiences and to engage openly has provided us with a detailed and valuable picture of the breed’s current health status.
This report would also not exist without the dedica on of those working behind the scenes. I would like to offer
special thanks to Dr Lizzie Kwint for her expert guidance, though ul analysis, and unwavering support
throughout the process. Her contribu on has been central to the quality and clarity of the findings presented
here. Deep thanks also go to the members of the Health Advisory Group, who have assisted Lizzie along the
way and helped shape this report.
What follows is not only a record of where we are today but also a resource to inform our next steps - whether
in breeding, training or veterinary care. It is our hope that this report will encourage con nued
collabora on, responsible decisionômaking, and above all, a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and
strengths of the working Clumber Spaniel.
Thank you to all who contributed to this vital work.
