Recommenda ons
1) Dogs with congenital mouth problems such as over or under shot jaws or
congenital dental abnormali es should not be used in the breeding
popula on due to a strong gene c link between passage from adult to
offspring.
NB Though in some cases it may not cause the dog itself problems or
concerns, it is not desirable to breed dogs for working or showing with
mouth abnormali es.
2) Educa on about the benefits of teeth cleaning and how to go about
keeping dogs’ mouths healthy.
